“What does baptism mean?”

Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4

In Creation, God made us to reflect His love and rule with Him.
Through
Rebellion, we chose sin and were separated from Him.
Yet God gave a
Promise of rescue through a coming King. Christ the King came, lived sinlessly, died, and rose again. Now all are called to Believe, Repent, and through Baptism, begin new life. As we Follow Jesus, we live by His Spirit and await His Return to restore all things.

1. Baptism Expresses Faith in Jesus for Forgiveness of Sins Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21; Colossians 2:12

I belong to Jesus. I have died with Him, and
I’ve been raised to a new life in Him.

2. Our Foundation for Baptism: Scripture Alone

  • Acts 2:37–38 — “Repent and be baptized”

  • Acts 8:12 — “believed …and they were baptized”

  • Acts 8:36–38 — “What prevents me from being baptized?”

  • Acts 9:17–18 / Acts 22:16 — “Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away”

  • Acts 10:47–48 — “be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.”

  • Acts 16:14–15, 31–33 — responded immediately by being baptized

John 3:5; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:3–4; Galatians 3:27

Every conversion in Scripture includes:

  1. Hearing the gospel

  2. Believing in Jesus

  3. Repenting of sin

  4. Confessing faith in Christ

  5. Being baptized into Him

  6. Receiving forgiveness and the Holy Spirit

3. Baptism Is Faith’s Response to the Gospel Ephesians 2:8–9

4. Baptism as the Normal Pattern of Response Acts 2:38; 41

5. Clarifying What Baptism Is (and Isn’t)

6. Baptism Is a Commitment to Discipleship Romans 6:4; 11; Matthew 3:15; 28:19; 1 Peter 3:21

Baptism is where rebellion is buried, forgiveness is received, the Spirit is given, and a new life begins.

Colossians 2:12; Ephesians 2:8–9

Jesus is King and he is inviting you to FOLLOW HIM
