The Greatest Turning Point in History
Why His Arrival Matters
It was promised Isaiah 9, Daniel 7
It was unexpected
It was transformative
The Kingdom Gospel of Jesus is the good news that the reign of God has come on earth through Jesus Christ, the promised King.
In Creation, God made us to reflect His love and rule with Him. Through Rebellion, we chose sin and were separated from Him. Yet God gave a Promise of rescue through a coming King. Christ the King came, lived sinlessly, died, and rose again. Now all are called to Believe, Repent, and through Baptism, begin new life. As we Follow Jesus, we live by His Spirit and await His Return to restore all things.
1 – Jesus Announced the Kingdom Had Arrived (Mark 1:14–15)
“The Time is Fulfilled” Genesis 12:3; Isaiah 9:6–7; Daniel 7:13–14
“The Kingdom of God is at Hand”
In the world, power is about control; in the Kingdom, power is about service.
In the world, greatness is about status; in the Kingdom, greatness is about humility.
In the world, victory comes by force; in the Kingdom, victory comes by sacrifice.
“Repent and Believe” – The Right Response
The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel. Mark 1:15
2. Jesus Manifested the Kingdom Luke 4:16–21, miracles; Matthew 11:4–5; John 6:35; 9:5; 13:35
Every miracle was a snapshot of what life under the King looks like:
Blind received sight → darkness gives way to light
Lame walked → weakness is replaced with strength
Lepers were cleansed → outcast is restored to community
Dead were raised → death must bow to the Author of Life
Poor heard the gospel → the overlooked are valued
3. Jesus Taught the Kingdom (parables, Sermon on the Mount) Matthew 5-7, 13
The Kingdom is like a mustard seed Matthew 13:31–32
The Kingdom is like yeast Matthew 13:33
The Kingdom is like hidden treasure Matthew 13:44
4. Jesus Is the Image of the Invisible God John 14:9; Hebrews 1:3
When we look at Jesus, we see the heart of God 2 Corinthians 3:18; Mark 1:15; Luke 4:1; John 14:9
Which kingdom are you living in?
Your own, marked by striving, fear, and brokenness?
Or His, marked by love, forgiveness, and life?
Jesus is King. And He’s inviting you to follow Him—today.
