Mat 5:13: “You are the salt of the earth.”

    1. Salt Preserves

  2. Salt Flavors

  3. Salt is Different

  4. Salt Creates Thirst

  1. A WARNING IF WE FAIL TO FULFILL OUR PURPOSE

Mat 5:13: “But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless.”

II. I AM TO BE LIGHT IN THIS WORLD

“You are the light of the world.” (Mat 5:14)

    1. Light Makes Sight Possible In The Darkness Jn 1:5; 2 Tim 1:10

  2. Light Exposes the Darkness and Things That Belong to Darkness

  3. Light Shows and Provides the Only Way Out of the Darkness

  4. Light Burns Itself Out in Service to Others

  5. LIGHT MUST BE IN A PROMINENT PLACE
    Mat 6:1, 2, 5; 1 Tim 5:24-25

“A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peck-measure, but on the lamp stand; and it gives light to all who are in the house.” (Mat 5:14b-15)

“Let your light shine before people in such a way that they see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” (Mat 5:16)
