A Different Kind of Purity

Matthew 5:27-32

Introduction

Jesus wants more than right behavior-He wants our heart.
Matthew 5:20, 27–28

I. Purity Begins In The Heart Matthew 5:27–28

Adultery begins before the act.

Lust turns a person into something to consume.

Kingdom purity changes how we see people.

What captures our attention shapes our affection.

II. Fight Sin Like It Matters Matthew 5:29–30

Jesus calls for radical action against sin.

Remove what repeatedly leads you away from Him.

Freedom may require boundaries, confession, and accountability.

What are you willing to change to become who Jesus is calling you to be?

III. Marriage Is A Covenant, Not A Convenience
Matthew 5:31–32; Matthew 19:4–6

Jesus moves beyond loopholes to God’s intention.

Marriage is covenant faithfulness.

Divorce should never be treated casually.

Brokenness is real, but so is the grace of Jesus.

IV. Give Jesus Every Part Of Your Life

My eyes belong to Jesus.

My imagination belongs to Jesus.

My sexuality belongs to Jesus.

My marriage or singleness belongs to Jesus.

My heart belongs to Jesus.

Don’t just ask, “Where is the line?”

Ask, “What does faithfulness to King Jesus look like?”

Trust Him. Repent. Follow Him. Live a different kind of life.
