Our Beliefs

We believe in the one true God who is revealed in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  He is the creator, redeemer, and sustainer of all creation.  (Gen 1:26; John 1:1; Rev 5:13)

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God, fully human, and fully exalted.  We believe that he was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, gave himself on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, was raised three days later, and now reigns in heaven.  (Matt 1:21; Romans 5:8)

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity who is fully divine and fully personal.  He dwells within the believer in order to empower and equip him/her for life and service.  (John 14:26; Acts 1:8)

We believe “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”  Scripture is God’s authoritative Word and the basis of Truth for all who believe. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe that creation was brought into existence by the spoken Word of God.  After six days God rested and saw that is was very good.  All creation was created perfectly, and since the fall of man has been subject to decay, but will one day be restored.  (Gen 1:1; Gen1:31; Rom 8:21-22)

We believe that man (male and female) was created in the image of God.  The fall of man resulted from sin and the effects of sin continue today.  The only hope for man to be redeemed from sin is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.  (Gen 1:27; Gen 3:22; Rom 3:21-26)

​We believe that sin separates us all from God and must be forgiven in order to have a relationship with Him. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  (Rom 3:23, 6:23; Gen 3:17)

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus, with repentance and immersion, which results in the forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and the gift of the Holy Spirit.  (Acts 2:38; John 3:16; Rom 3:21-26)

We believe the Church is the body and bride of Christ made up of all believers. The mission of the Church is to make disciples. The head of the Church is Jesus Christ.  (Matt 16:18; Matt 28:19; Col 1:18)

We believe heaven was created by God, it is where God the Father and God the Son reign, and it is where all believers will one day live for eternity.  (Gen 14:19; Luke 24:51; Matt 3:17; John 17:24; Phil 3:20)

We believe hell is the place of future punishment for wicked or unbelieving persons.  It is a place of great anguish from which God is totally absent.  (Matt 7:13; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9)

We believe Christ will return to earth with His angels to judge the living and the dead.  “For the trumpet will sound the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.” (1 Cor 15:52; 2 Tim 4:1; Rev 22:7)

We believe baptism is done by immersion combined with repentance and faith for the forgiveness of sin and gift of the Holy Spirit.  In baptism we are buried with Christ and raised into new life.  (Acts 2:38; Col 2:12)

We believe the Lord’s Supper is symbolic of the body and blood of Christ.  Every Lord’s Day we take the bread and the juice in remembrance of our Lord’s sacrifice.  (Luke 22:19-20; Acts 2:42)

We believe marriage is a life-long covenant relationship between a man and a woman.  We believe marriage was ordained by God and is blessed by the two becoming one.  (Gen 2:24; Ex 20:14; 1 Cor 7:10-11)
